Auto crash victim’s remains recovered after 11 days

The remains of the Deputy Manager, Finance of the Kaduna Petrochemical Refining Company,  Alhaji Suleiman Jibril, have been recovered 11 days after he died in an auto crash.

The  reports that Jibril’s car plunged into a river at Jere Bridge along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway he was travelling on Friday August  31, 2012 at about 8.30 p.m.

He was travelling with his nephew, Omeizah, and driver, Dahiru.

Eyewitnesses said the Hilux van plunged into the river while trying to manoeuvre between two articulated vehicles on the bridge.

While Dahiru’s body was found six kilometres from the crash scene two days after the accident, Jibril’s body was found in the front seat of the mangled Toyota Hilux van in the front passenger’s seat.

The remains of Omeizah has yet to be recovered as he was not found inside the vehicle.

The vehicle was recovered by the combined efforts of experts from Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority, professional divers from Warri in Delta and local fishermen from Jere town.

The remains of Jibril was buried after he was identified by his son.
