Chelsea will appoint Roberto Di Matteo as permanent coach this week after former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola rejected the job, the Daily Mirror reported.
Interim manager Di Matteo led Chelsea to its first Champions League title last month. Guardiola left Barcelona after last season, saying he wanted a break from soccer.
The club will this week appoint him eighth boss since 2004 for helping them to the Champions League title.
Di Matteo has waited three weeks for club owner, Roman Abramovich, to accept that Pep Guardiola will not join the Blues.
