Daughter butchers her mother to death in the farm

The suspect allegedly killed her mother on the farm.

CourtA 30-year-old woman, Elina Shada, was on Friday arraigned before a Jalingo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly killing her mother, Lidia Shada.

Magistrate Habiba Barde ordered the accused to be remanded in prison, pending the release of a legal advice from the Ministry of Justice, Jalingo.

She said that she was only holding charge for the state high court, as a magistrate court was not competent to entertain cases relating capital offences.

Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Musa James, said that Elina was charged with culpable homicide, an offence which contravened Section 211 of the Penal Code.

This is a terrible tragedy for this woman and her family. It is very unusual for a woman to kill her mother in this part of Nigeria. Something seriously went wrong on that farm that morning.
I pray the authority do a very detail investigation before rushing to court and judgement. It could have been a farming accident.

May Allah forgive us all for all our sins.
