Ex-Council boss killed by armed robbers – Obaseki

Contrary to reports that Suleman Afegbua was murdered possibly for political reason, the Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki has said that the ex-council boss of Etsako East local government of the state was killed by armed robbers while he was trying to escape from them.

Obaseki made remark at the weekend during his condolence visit to the family home of the deceased at Awoyemi Quarters of Okpella Etsako East Local Government of the state, where he said the ex-council boss was killed on March 16 while on his way to Benin, and explained, “What I heard was that when his vehicle was intercepted by the robbers, he wanted to escape but the robbers felt he was going to attack them and they shot him. You would recall that for the last few weeks there have been series of robbery and kidnapping on that road.”

He said Sulieman was a man of peace who had done much to foster unity and development in his community, and offered full scholarship to his only child to university level.
