A lecturer in  College of Education in Edo State, Mr. Jolly Ehigie, who was abducted last Tuesday, has been released.

He was released at about 3am on Sunday.

The Dean of Student Affairs of the institution, Mr. Richard Amayo, confirmed the release of the lecturer.

He said the lecturer was fine and okay.

Mr. Jolly was abducted at his Benin City residence after armed men killed his two dogs.

Lecturers and students of the institution protested the abduction, with the lecturers abandoning classes to press home the demand for their colleague’s unconditional release.
