A middle-aged man, Mr. Sola Sulaimon, was found dead in the wee hours of Saturday after having a drink with a group of friends at the Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos.
Sulaimon, who had gone out with his friends on Friday night, was seen in a pool of blood around 4am on Saturday.
News learnt that the corpse had machete wounds and was discovered by a resident who then alerted the wife of the deceased.
Sulaimon, an ex-employee of Nigerian Ports Authority, was last seen at Odutuga Street in company with some friends.
It was learnt that the case is being handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.
It could however not be confirmed if any arrest had been made. The telephone of Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, rang out when she was called for confirmation.
Meanwhile, hoodlums on Sunday allegedly stabbed an unidentified customer at a hotel in the Ajegunle area of the state.
