“That is the foundation we are laying today. For the future of our children to be secured, we must build good schools. For a long time, Uhunmwode has been neglected by previous administrations, but we insist we must get to the villages to see for ourselves the condition of our schools,” he noted.

According to him, “the problem of Edo state, just like Nigeria, is that if you look at the government books, they will claim they built schools but you cannot see them. We will use government money to take care of the young ones.”

The governor disclosed that all the schools being built have been supplied with a desk for each student and they will no more use black boards.

“We have sunk the bore hole here and we are going to drill another one to solve the water problem in Uhunmwode and work is going ongoing at the Ugoneki-Eguaholor road and when completed we will go to other roads,” the governor noted.
