Police arrest grandpa for ‘sexually abusing’ boys

The Police in Adamawa said it has arrested a 70-year old man for sexually abusing boys aged between 13 and 15 years.

The spokesman for the command, DSP Mohammed Ibrahim, told journalists in Yola on Wednesday that the suspect, a mason, was arrested in Jimeta.

Ibrahim said the man had been engaging in unlawful sexual relationships with four boys, whom he induced with money.

“The father of one of the children took his son who had sustained injury in the act to a private clinic, which prompted the doctor to alert the police, “ the News Agency of Nigeria quoted the police spokesman as saying on Wednesday.

Ibrahim commended the doctor and noted that the parents of the boy had wanted the matter dropped for fear of stigmatization.

The command urged parents to monitor the movements of their children and guard against their falling prey to unscrupulous characters.
