Contrary to what was speculated by some media but republished by Naija Center News, that the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe in South Ijaw Local Government Area, Dr. Ineye Ekpebu was arrested in connection of the murder of his colleague, Mr. Frank Moses, the police DSP, Alex Akhigbe has debunked the story.

According to Mr. Akhigbe, Dr. Ekpebu was never arrested but invited to the station for questioning since he is the head of the institution.

Speaking with NAIJA CENTER NEWS on phone, Bayelsa DSP said ” The rector was never arrested, we only invited him to the station to ask him some few questions since he is the head of the school after which we let him go”

He added ” We are still on the investigation, and as soon as we found something, we will let you know. We are tapping into different possibilities in order to bring the perpetrator to book”

Mr. Moses was shot dead by unknown gunmen immediately after celebrating the success of the Golden Eaglet in the FIFA under 17 world cup.

Moses was the Financial Secretary of the labour union in the institution and was at the middle or rather the engineer of the disagreement between the management and the workers of the institution before he was murdered.
