ELECOMMUNICATIONS giant, Globacom, has called on Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, to start the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on a good note by defeating the Namibian national team, Brave Warriors, when they clash in Calabar today.
Globacom, in a press statement in Lagos yesterday, advised the team to work hard and play with cohesion in order to have the necessary confidence to win the match.
According to the company, the team has started to blend well as was evident from their last international friendly against Peru in Lima, where the Eagles exhibited a lot of confidence and played purposeful football although they lost the encounter.
“It is for this reason that we expect Nigerians to appreciate the effort of the Eagles and keep supporting the team with their prayers and goodwill so that Nigeria can continue to excel,” the statement said.
The company also charged the team not to rest on their oars until the last battle is won next year to ensure qualification for the next World Cup holding in Brazil in June, 2014.
Globacom is the major sponsor of the Nigerian national teams and the Nigerian Football Federation.
