The Student Union Government had on the same day planned a protest over the unexpected increase of fees in the campus.
The students converged at Hall 2 Car Park on Thursday morning.
The management had increased every other fee by N10,000 which is 20% increment including the incoming students.
The school fee was increased by N1,000 without reasons from the authorities which led to the angry students expressing their displeasure over the development.
In a notice by the students, their protest was as a result of the following:
Increment in hostel maintenance fee, Increment in school charges for new students, increment in transfer fee, non-payment of work-study students, increment in price of bread on campus and the poor quality of UNIBEN Bread and other services, and poor states of the halls of residence
