Nigeria controversial rapper Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja popularly known as Eedris Abdulkareem has released a new single titled “Trouble dey sleep”
The song is a direct assault on the corrupt Nigerian politicians.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed takes a punch in his new song which criticizes the interview where the Minister rated Senegalese Jollof Rice over Nigeria.
The song also condemns the government’s decision to stop the Nigerian entertainers from shooting videos abroad.
The song blames Nigeria politicians for the corruption in the country, stressing the obvious practice of sending the rich children abroad for education while the families of the poor are stuck with the “the dirty country”, and poor facilities.
Abdulkareem explains that entertainers don’t shoot videos in Nigeria because the country is dirty.
The lyrics of the song question the identities of those responsible for the corrupt practices in the country. “How old is corruption? na who be the corruption? na who born corruption? sey be na bad leaders”
The singer/rapper is known for his controversial songs that hit the nail on the dirtiness, pettiness and corruption by the political class.
In September 2004, Abdulkareem released a debatable song titled “Nigeria jaga jaga” was attracted attacks from the then President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
