Two unidentified persons have been arrested by the police in connection with an attack on a primary school headmaster in Edo State.
It was gathered that some hoodlums invaded Uwa Primary School, located on First East Circular road in Benin and attacked the headmaster who sustained injuries in the process. The incident was said to have caused panic among students and teachers who scampered for safety.
The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Moses Nkombe, while confirming the incident said the suspects were assisting the police in investigations.
Responding, the Edo State government through the Sole Administrator, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe, condemned the attack and assured of adequate security.
“We want to assure the pupils and their parents that we are on top of the situation. “Normalcy has returned to the school and we are working to ensure that the situation remains that way,” he said.
