Ebonyi State Police Command has captured two suspects over their claimed association in the operation of an infant manufacturing factory in Imo State.
The state Police Spokesman, Sylvester Igbo, said one of the suspects, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu represents considerable authority in passing on pregnant young ladies from Amasiri to Amaraku, Amaigbo in Nwangele local government area of Imo State where the baby factory is situated.
Agwu was said to have taken a pregnant teen, Miss Uchechi Sunday from Amasiri in Afikpo North local government area of Ebonyi State to the infant factory, making her to accept that he was taking her to a provision store where she might be employed as a sales girl.
On arriving at the baby factory, Uchechi was stunned to uncover that just pregnant young ladies were in the building utilized for the mill however had no choice yet to stay in the building till June when she put to birth.
After the delivery, Uchechi was stripped of her baby and transported to Okigwe where she was given ten thousand naira to transport herself to Amasiri and to buy some new dress.
Goaded by the development, her guardians reported the occurrence to the police who initiated investigation into the matter.
The police representative illustrated that examination expedited the capture of the suspect and a medical caretaker, Gloria Ezenwa in Feziechi Hospital at Orlu which served as a referral focus to the baby factory when difficulties emerged.
Igbo said police might heighten effort to guarantee the capture of the proprietor of the factory recognized as Madam Favour who is presently on the run.
