A federal lawmaker representing Kogi West constituency, Senator Dino Melaye who was reported to have been abducted by unknown persons on Thursday has regained freedom.
His alleged abduction was disclosed by his colleague, a senator representing Bayelsa East Constituency, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.
Murray Bruce alleged that his colleague was on his way to Kogi court when unknown persons in a Toyota Sienna abducted him.
On Friday, Melaye twitted that he has escaped another attack after spending 11 hours in the wildnesses but without giving details of his abduction.
He said “I thank God once again for escaping another dangerous attack. I also thank Nigerians for their prayers and show of Love. Spent 11 hours in the wilderness traumatized but God preserved me. God is the best and in whom ONLY I trust. They will continue to try. WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!”
The senator was one of the lawmakers who decamped from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday.
He had had fracas with the state governor of Kogi State, Governor Yahya Bello.
Melaye had raised an alarm on Wednesday that the projects he sponsored in his constituency were destroyed by people loyal to the governor.
