The embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki has called for an emergency meeting of the leadership of the national assembly to be held on Tuesday.
The meeting is expected to accommodate principal officers of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
According to Premiumtimes report, the meeting would address issues bordering on national issues that require urgent attention of the National Assembly.
The meeting is expected to start at noon.
According to the online medium report, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu is expected to meet the lawmakers at 1pm
Issues to be discussed according to a quoted source include the rumour plan to impeach the Senate President, the pending 2019 election supplementary budget, the hurricane defection in the political space among others.
Saraki’s Media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu confirmed the scheduled meeting, however, refused to give details.
The National Assembly proceeded on annual recess on July 24 to reconvene on September 25.
