1 dead, others injured in a car accident in Ibadan

An accident involving a Motorcycle and a car has claimed the life of a man simply identified as "Danku" at the New Garage area of Ibadan this evening.

An accident involving a Motorcycle and a car has claimed the life of a man simply identified as “Danku” at the New Garage area of Ibadan this evening.

The deceased, an automobile rewire engineer was riding a motorcycle with a couple of his friends and colleagues along New Garage towards Alao Akala Expressway when the tragedy struck.

According to eyewitness report at the scene of the accident, a car with a brake failure hit the motorcycle conveying Danku and his friends, he fell and sustained an injury to his head and backbone.

He was then rushed to a private hospital very close to the area, the injury was so much that he was referred immediately by the Medical Personnel on duty to the University College Hospital (UCH), where he later gave up the ghost. Others on the motorcycle with him also sustained minor injuries and were admitted for treatment.

A sympathizer who spoke with NAIJA CENTER NEWS reporter said ‘we carried him alongside his friends to a nearby private Hospital, there the Doctor on duty on sighting him with blood coming out of his nose, mouth and ears and also a fracture to his backbone ordered us to take him to UCH, where he later passed out.

An effort to get in contact with the State Police Public Relation Officer for an official statement proved abortive at the time of filing this report.
