The peaceful atmosphere in Saki in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State was on Tuesday disturbed after suspected Fulani herdsmen killed the Officer-in-charge, Sheu Magu and a team member of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS in Saki Area of the Oyo State Police Command.
The deceased died as a result of several machete injuries sustained in the hands of the herdsmen during an operation carried out in a forest around Saki-Ogboro.
The State Commissioner of Police had earlier on held a peace meeting with the herdsmen, farmers and leaders of the communities of the state in His command headquarters office in Eleyele, Ibadan.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, in a release said four suspects who were connected to the crime had already been arrested.
A source who spoke in anonymity told the medium that the officers had earlier arrested some suspected Fulani herdsmen for disturbing public peace in the area but were unfortunately ambushed by another set of herdsmen.
However, it was also in the same anonymous report that another victim of the Herdsmen attack, identified as Ademola was receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in the State.
