- Went with Fani-Kayode, Mike Ozekhome and Wike
There was a controversy at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC in Wuse today as the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose entered the commission’s office with his entourage.
The former governor went to EFCC with the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, his legal counsel, Barr. Mike Ozekhome who also took three senior members of his chambers.
The daring Fayose wore a customized T-shirt emblazoned with “EFCC I’m Here” over a pair of jeans and a face cap, the Punch Newspaper reports.
The former governor alleged that the EFCC placed its men round his home, despite assuring them of his cooperation.
Fayose had written to EFCC since last month, requesting an invitation in order to answer any questions that the commission may have.
Another controversial scenario that ensued at the office was when the officials of the EFCC stopped Fani-Kayode from entering the commission.
He introduced himself as one of the lawyers representing Fayose before he was allowed in.
Punch Newspaper quoted Fani-Kayode saying that he was a regular customer at the commission as he had spent 90 non-consecutive days in the custody of the commission in 2016.
“I am a regular customer here. You should know me by now,” he joked.
