Benin City – Two boys, Micheal Ogbebor and Sheriff Momoh who were arrested in Erediauwa street in Sapele Road, Edo State on Sunday have been released by the Nigerian police.

This was after a Human Rights Activist and members of the Talakawa’s Parliament’s attention was drawn to the arrest.

According to report made known to our reporter, the duo was arrested in their respective rooms close to a joint where they allegedly sell Indian Hemp popularly known as “Igbo”

The police were in search of a suspected criminal named Efosa Ogidigan who had on several occasions escaped arrest, and sometimes attack the officers.

One of the arrested boys, Ogbebor Micheal claimed he has no relationship with the suspected and wanted criminal but was arrested anyway.

Our reporter who led some members of the Civil Society Organizations to New Etete Divisional Headquarters in Benin was informed by the police that the young men were suspected armed robbers and cultists and that the said Efosa hit one of its men with a cut to size double barrel gun before he escaped.

The Police Officer further said that the young men will not be granted bail until they produce Efosa.

The boys were later released to reliable sureties after the team reached out to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Division.
