Reno Omokri, Fani-Kayode condemn Dan-Ali’s statement on herdsmen killing

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned the attempt by Nigerian Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali to defend the incessant killing of the Fulani Herdsmen across the nation.

He described the statement credited to the Defence Minister as provocative and insulting, liking it to the statement President Muhammadu Buhari made in 2014 regarding the attacks on the terrorist organization, Boko Haram.

The former minister said: “The attempt to justify the genocidal barbarity of the Fulani terrorists by the Min. of Defence is provocative and insulting. It is in the same way that Pres. Buhari attempted to justify and defend Boko Haram in 2014 by saying “an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north”.

Similarly, Reno Omokri, a former aide to the former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan said the Minister’s statement defiles “logic” and “history”.

“Buhari’s defense minister’s logic that anti grazing law and not Fulani herdsmen is to blame for Fulani killings defies logic and history. Herdsmen were killing before the law was passed. Are these the people advising Buhari? No wonder Nigeria is collapsing under this inept admin.”

“Nigerians showed unprecedented sympathy to Buhari when his son had an accident only for Buhari and his men to show unprecedented disdain when killer Fulani herdsmen kill Nigerians. Are our lives not as precious as Yusuf Buhari’s life?” He noted.

Omokri stressed that with the lopsided appointment, the non northern Muslims are exposed as no one to protect the during Security Council meeting.

“Look at the men Buhari appointed to head Nigeria’s security architecture, almost 100% Northern Muslims. Who‘s there to speak for non Northern Muslims during Security Council meetings? For a multi-religious nation like Nigeria, the current security apparatus is heavily lopsided!

“Is Buhari not ashamed of his minister who makes an argument that it is okay to oppose a law you don’t like by killing Nigerians? Blaming anti grazing law for the Fulani herdsmen killings and not the Fulani herdsmen is idiotic. Did Christians kill to oppose Sharia implementation?”

On the second term endorsement by the Miyetti Allah, Omokri said “Miyetti Allah has just endorsed President Buhari fur a 2nd term. My question is this: If Fulani herdsmen members of Miyetti Allah are killing Nigerians like this when Buhari is desperate for a 2nd term, how would they kill when their ex Grand Patron finally gets his 2nd term?”

Dan-Ali has blamed the implementation of anti-open grazing bill in some states as the major cause of the killings by Fulani Herdsmen in the country.

This is contrary to the intelligence report submitted to the President by the Department of State Services (DSS) that Islamic States (ISIS) was responsible for the massacre in Benue and other parts of the country.

He said: “Whatever crisis that happened at any time, there has to be remote and immediate causes,” the minister said.

“What are the remote causes of this farmers/herders crisis? Since Independence, we know there used to be a route whereby these cattle rearers use.

“Cattle rearers are all over the nation, you go to Bayelsa, you see them, you go to Ogun, you see them. If those routes are blocked, what happens? These people are Nigerians, it’s just like you going to block river or shoreline, does that make sense to you?

“These are the remote causes. But what are the immediate causes? It is the grazing law. These people are Nigerians, we must learn to live together with each other, that is basic.
