APC says Adamawa lawmakers acting script

ADAMAWA State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the state House of Assembly of acting a script by serving Governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Mr Bala Ngilari, with an impeachment notice.

He said the allegations levelled against the governor were not only laughable but also embarrassing, coming from the lawmakers.

“There is no way a house will bring something that happened in 2007 during previous legislation as some of its allegations against the governor. It has definitely goofed,” Padio added.

The APC image maker pointed out that the Speaker, who had been nursing a gubernatorial ambition with the hope of using the APC, became angry with the APC when Mrs Binta Masi  from the same zone with him emerged the state party chairperson, blocking his chances.

Reverend Padio, who commended groups and individuals for showing solidarity with the state APC-led government over the matter,  urged the people of Adamawa to resist the lawmakers’ attempt to sacrify the state for selfish ambition.

Meanwhile, as  criticisms continue to trail the impeachment notice slammed on Governor Nyako and his deputy,  a contractor handling the Mubi Bye-Pass  construction in Adamawa State, Alhaji Maiwada Baba, has threatened to file a case against the house for defamation of his personality and the company.

Speaking to newsmen at a press conference in Yola, he described the alleged collection of N300 million without mobilising to site as a fallacy.

The chairman of the Hydro Source and Resources, Alhaji Maiwada Baba, who the Adamawa State House of Assembly alleged collected the sum of N300 million on Mubi bye-pass road, demanded a retraction and apology from the assembly or it would go to court.
