The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has dumped the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This was disclosed on Tuesday in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Muyideen Akorede.
Akorede said, “Following due consultations with the people and in response to calls by major stakeholder groups in the state, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed today defected to the PDP having realized that the APC can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of his people.”
Meanwhile, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki also announced his defection from the APC to the main opposition, the PDP.
He disclosed this on his twitter handle on Tuesday.
Saraki said “I wish to inform Nigerians that, after extensive consultations, I have decided to take my leave of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
