The tide of defection may have shifted to Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress as Chief Osamede Adun and Five hundred and eighty-nine, one hundred and thirty-six members of the APC dumped the party on Thursday afternoon.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the APC Chieftain who is also a Chief in the palace of the Oba of Benin.
The statement reads “We wish to inform the STate leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the general public that after crucial evaluation, discussions and due consultations with our friends, political Associates and considering the unfolding event in the Nigerian political space, we the following five Hundred and Eighty nine Thousand, One Hundred and Thirty Seven members of the Kwankwansiyya Movement, Edo State Chapter in the APC across the One Hundred and Ninety-two Wards hereby resign from the APC with immediate effect today 9th August, 2018”
When contacted by NAIJA CENTER NEWS, Chief Adun popularly known as Bob Izua told our correspondent that he left without a choice, adding that the state government has oppressed him and his followers enough.
“I have to leave since they are fighting with me in Edo State. I left because they oppressed me, destroyed my house and I lost my wife in the process. Godwin Obaseki placed people in my union, he hijacked it from me” Chief Adun lamented.
