The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), has announced the conclusion of the delineation of ward boundaries in preparation for the forthcoming local government election in the State.
This was made known by the Chairman OYSIEC, Mr. Jide Ajeigbe at the Electoral Staff Training organised by the International Federation on Electoral System (IFES) towards the forthcoming local government election scheduled for May 12, 2018.
“This is a continuous exercise due to the growth in some areas of our local Government. We are addressing that and of course, we are already at the last stage, He stated.
He further stated that organizing a successful local government election within the state is a duty which OYSIEC will cautiously live up to!
The training was organized to ensure that the OYSIEC commissioners and staff embrace modern ways of organizing a free and fair, credible election.
Speaking on the election Date, Mr. Ajeigbe emphasized that the date that was fixed for the local government election through out the 33 Local Governments will remain unchanged.
Also present at the occasion is the IFEC facilitator, Mr Obaje Ukeh who informed the Media that the essence of the training is to enlightened staff and employees of the Oyo state electoral body on how to successfully run a free and fair election, He urged the electorates to support OYSIEC in achieving this feat.
